My breast reduction journey

A week after my consult I got a voicemail from my surgeons nurse that said my Insurance has approved this surgery! I was so excited but also amazed at how quickly that went through. According to my nurse, my insurance company deems it medically necessary if you need at least 500 grams removed. If you read my first post, you'll remember the Dr said I'd need 1000 grams. I waited over the weekend to call back because I needed time to process this info with it all being so sudden. It was also Thanksgiving week and I had company coming to town. So, I put it on the back burner. I called the office Monday after Thanksgiving and we scheduled my surgery. January 31st! It is an outpatient procedure. It takes 2.5-3 hours and then one hr of observation after. I need Nathan to drive me and be home for the first two days. I won't be allowed to lift more than 5 lbs for about 4-6 weeks. I've been researching breast reduction surgery for years. When I met my husband I told Him one day I would have one. The last few years I've contacted a few doctors but never went to a consultation. I chickened out, I thought they'd make me lose a bunch of weight first and laugh me out. I was talking to my chiropractors assistant, whom I've known since 2006. She saw me at a healthy weight and now that I am overweight. She told me there was a really good Dr. That helps get women approved through insurance and her friend had used.
